Never again by
D. Farrell from Syracuse, NY
Sailing date: Dec 2007 Pros:
the excursion
Cons:
see below
I have never been on a cruise before. However, I do know how all inclusive vacations work. I am not happy with my experience with Carnival Cruise Lines.
The food was cold at the buffets and in the dining room for dinner. The breakfast in the dining room was hot, however, the orange juice was warm. My orders were not complete for each meal.
The cleanliness of the ship is less than desired. I am a person who notices finger and hand prints on all the glass throughout the ship as well as in the Palace Theatre. On three occasions, I found drinking glasses as well as used napkins on the stairs.
There were wet vacs found in the hallway in two locations.
Trying to call the front desk from the stateroom only left me frustrated since no one answered. Also, when calling room service, the phone would be picked up and hung up immediately. Calling back several times before I could record my request with Lisa who finally answered my call.
Having a coupon book, I was unable to use it. I wanted to use the coupon for the internet service but found that when I inquired at the information desk, I could not redeem it since the internet manager only is available during certain times. The information desk could not help me and it seemed as though they brushed me off.
For dinner in the dining room, we were seated with four men that were single that was fine. Two of the men were swearing, causing a scene within our table which made us feel uncomfortable. We did not attend the formal dinner because of these two men. On the last night, we discussed our issue with the maitre d and he was able to accommodate us by changing our table with a wonderful group from Brazil.

Nassau, Bahamas Do not waste your money on swimming with the stingrays. you will be in 3-4 ft of water with snorkel masks.
Don't Miss: Must see Atlantis on your own, take a water taxi. The Blackbeards Cay excursion well worth the money if you want a beach.

Enjoyed the Cruise Experience by
Marilyn R from boca Raton, FL
Sailing date: Dec 2007 Pros:
Ports of Call
Cons:
Music too Loud, No Hand Sanitizers available for hand cleaning when viruses are prevalent on ships.
Carnival Fascination was a very nice ship. It was older but clean.
There were no hand sanitizers by the steps fo prevent infection.
The music is so loud on the ship, whether by CD or live. One cannot enjoy a conversation with another person.
Please don't market products in the spa. I don't like pressure like that when one goes for relaxation.
The food was good but not spectacular like other cruises I have gone on.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food
Stateroom Quality The shower water goes all over the floor.
Ship Staff Quality Great people.
Entertainment & Activities Girls costumes are pretty risque for young women.

An OK Cruise by
A Traveler from NJ
Sailing date: Nov 2007 Overall The cruise was nice. I expected a little bit more starting from the moment we boarded the ship. No one was there to tell you where to go or what you were supposed to do. For the most part we entertained ourselves. If you ask if I would go back on a carnival ship, I would probably say no, I would want to try one of the other cruise ships first.
Ship Quality Overall the ship was clean. I had a huge problem with the bathrooms throughout the ship. I didn't seem like they were being cleaned as often as they should be.
Dining/Food Breakfast and Dinner were great, but lunch was OK.
Stateroom Quality No complaints about the room, I actually expected worse. Not a bad size.
Ship Staff Quality Our waiter for dinner was excelent. The others were just OK. I would have expected more friendly staff. It seems like there were a ton of waiters by the pool to get you to buy the drinks, but not enough when you needed help or had a question to ask
Entertainment & Activities
Children's Programs I would have liked more outdoor activities for the kids.

Nassau, Bahamas There is a lot to do once you get to the bahamas. Just be careful when purchasing the tours while on the boat. You are better off getting off and then getting a cab to take you where you want to go. We went to the atlantis aquarium, which was nice, but note really worth over $30 a person.

Nice way to spend an anniversary. by
JTH from Jacksonville, FL
Sailing date: Oct 2007 Pros:
Continental.com cruises got us a 3 category upgrade.
Cons:
Long drive to Miami. I wish this cruise would sail from Jacksonville.
The Carnival Fascination is a nice ship that recently had some upgrades. I enjoyed the ample closet space in our stateroom, and the new flat panel TV's that are featured even in the inside staterooms. The bathrooms have shower gel and shampoo dispensers, so it's not necessary to purchase the travel size variety. I would recommend conditioner, though because only samples are provided. You will also find his and hers Gillette razors, and Crest toothpaste. Next time I'll know to leave a fair amount of toiletries at home. The bedding is also very nice. I usually miss my feather pillow when I am away from home, but I slept very well. The down duvet was a nice touch, and if this wasn't a down pillow, it was the best microfiber pillow I have ever slept on (so comfortable).

Calica, Mexico We went snorkeling at Paamul which is a 15 minute bus ride from the Port. The tour operators made every effort to make our experience comfortable. The weather could have been nicer, but no one can control that.
Key West, Florida I would have liked more time in Key West. The ship docked at 7:30, but our excursion didn't start until 10:30. We had to be back on the ship by 1:30, so this didn't even leave us enough time to try the chocolate dipped Key Lime Pie at "The Blonde Giraffe".
Don't Miss: I would recommend touring Key West on your own. You'll get to stop when and where you want.

Sailing date: Jun 2007 Pros:
clean and comfortable
Cons:
food and was not as good as other lines
Boadrding was easy and the ship was clean and staff was very nice.
Reservations were made for a family of 10 for special 70th birthday and Carnival did not have us together even after booking this cruise in October las year! Two were in another dining room at a different time. We had to go to each dining areas early the first day and see each host to get us together!
Finally we were seated together and I thanked each matre'd .
Ship Quality
Dining/Food Food was average but not as good as many other lines that I have been on but what can you expect in a short cruise. This was my first Carnival cruise.
