The Elation was awesome! by
A Traveler from Glendale, AZ
Sailing date: Sep 2009 Pros:
The ship was beautiful
Cons:
nothing, liked it all
This was our first Carnival cruise and I really was not sure what to expect. I was sure we would have a good time regardless of anything else. WOW...I was surprised to see how beautiful the Elation was, very classy! I was in awe every time I discovered another area of the ship as they were all gorgeous. The food was great, never disappointed. We ate several times on the Lido deck, they always had so many dishes to choose from, I especially liked the rotisserie chicken. The deli also made some of the most delicious paninis ever. You were welcome to be seated in the main dining room for breakfast, lunch & dinner, what an experience it always was!! Evening dining was great, out servers Thinnett & Nicholas felt like part of our family by the end of our week. They always made us feel special and made us laugh, we always looked forward to our evening meal...5 star! The ship was so clean, there was always someone cleaning something, no wonder the Elation shined! Our room was unbelievable...we stayed in catagory 12 suite that had a jacuzzi tub and a walk in closet. The living room had a sectional sofa! I was in awe again! Overall, our trip was amazing and I would definitely recommend the 'fun ship'!! Can hardly wait to plan our next cruise.

A Nice Get-away Trip! by
A Traveler from Phoenix, Arizona
Sailing date: Jan 2009 Pros:
Very clean ship and personable staff.
Cons:
The often unkempt raucous clientele and a lack of organization in debarkation at times at ports of call.
The Carnival Elation was a most impeccably clean and maintained ship. The stateroom was spacious and included a surprisingly sizable bathroom. The staff was very professional yet personable. The dining options were varied and most pleasant. All of this and more contributed to our very positive cruising experience.

Collapse List of Ports
Ensenada, Mexico We enjoyed the visit to the Blow Hole -- La Bufadora -- but the shopping for fine silver was great, too!
Don't Miss: The shopping area near the port in downtown Ensenada. Of our 5 visits to Mexican ports, this area was the cleanest, safest, and nicest of all.
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Fantastic shopping experience, particularly for fine jewelry. The beauty of the natural setting was exceptional.
Don't Miss: (See above.)

was a fun ship!! by
julia w from seattle, WA
Sailing date: Aug 2006 Pros:
I liked the day activities and the arcade room
Cons:
I did not like how the breakfast stayed the same it got old after awhile and the kids zone
overall, carnival elation was a satisfiying experiance! I cruised with my family over summer vacation and at the time I was 13.
The rooms (we stayed in a ocean view)
- They were very spacious compared to the previous princess cruise that we had gone on
-Always clean
-great decor
-bathroom was larger then expected with great water pressure
activities/excursions/shows
-all the shows were great except for the magician/comedian his jokes were cheesy and not funny
-I would reccomend doing the pool side activites because they were very fun and entertaining(such as the survivor challenge and the making of the ice sculpture ect.)
- We went on the sting ray excursion I would only recommend it if you are up for the experiance ( i probably would not do it again but it was worth my time)
plus they only let u in the water for 20 min. which was a little to short for me!
the locations visited
-I completely loved there private island it was absolutely beautiful!
-it was a BBQ lunch very good better then the buffet food on the ship a wide variety of selections
- here is any important tip_ there are fish near the shore that are very very friendly and if you bring them back a hamburger bun or some sort of bread they will go crazy and swarm around you it was so fun to feed them. they would take the bread right out of your hand, be sure to do this when u get there
- The other islands were not so great compared to this one.
-one other tip DO NOT eat the food on the island the other islands inless it is with the cruise
because we almost ate somewhere and the cooks did not wash there hands ( very unsanitized) and there was no refrigerator which meant the food was probably bad.
kids zone
not good very boring. the staff is very strict about ages. a friend I met on the ship was not allowed to go to the teen disco because she was one year younger then me which was annoying because that meant i could not go either. They should not be allowed to split up friends in my opinion.
carnival is a pretty good ship!!
In my opinion any cruise is great if you bring a smile and are willing to have fun! it does not really matter what cruise u are on, what matters is the places youll go, the friends u meet and the memories that you make, which will last a life time!!!!!!!

I love this ship! by
Tiffany W from Knoxville, TN
Sailing date: Nov 2005 Pros:
This ship is still a large ship, but doesn't have as many people as the larger ships do.
Cons:
The debarking process was a bit painful!
This was my first cruise. I have went on my second cruise already. This ship is so pretty, and not as crowded as the larger ones. There was still plenty to do, and it is easy to find everything. I strongly recommend this ship and Carnival in general. The Mikado lounge is very elegant. This experience truly hooked me into the idea of crusing. I imagined I would have fun, but I thought I may get bored. Oh, was I wrong! I barely slept! Don't get me wrong, you can relax, but there is so much to do. It was family oriented, but you could still "have fun". The casino is addictive, and the drinks are awesome! You don't have to worry about driving back and forth anywhere, or keeping up with money! It seems everyone on the ship is responsible, it's not like a big college party or anything. You can still take your kids. I can not say enough about this ship! We were on the ship in August of 2005.
Ship Quality This ship was very clean and spacious. The decor was wonderful. I like this ship alot more than the bigger one, (Carnival Liberty), I have since been on. Once again, there are less people. I like that.
Dining/Food The food was good. There wasn't quite the variety the larger ship had, but it is still very good. There is 24 hour pizza, and a deli. They have room service also that can bring you breakfast. The dining room was beautiful.
Stateroom Quality I would have liked it to be larger, but the layout was very good for the size. The bathroom was bigger on this ship than the "Liberty", or at least it seemed that way.
Ship Staff Quality Everyone was nice. Carnival seems to have a great staff. There are people from all over the world working on their ships. It is so neat to be around so many different accents.
Entertainment & Activities There is too much to do on this ship to talk about. There was an awesome band in the "Romeo and Juliet" lounge. They sounded like everyone they were singing. I would have bought their CD if they had one. They played every king of music and they were great! The Vegas style shows in the "Mikado" are also very entertaining. I loved the casino too!
